May 28th, 1967: This truly historic image shows a helmet-less Colin Chapman testing the brand new DFV-powered Lotus Type 49 for the very first time on the runway outside the recently opened Lotus factory in Hethel, Norfolk. By the look on his face he knew he had a winner in both the Type 49 and the Cosworth-DFV V8 engine!!!

A pivotal moment in the history of Formula 1 and motor racing, the Type 49 would change the course of race car design and the Cosworth DFV engine would go on to win over 150 Grand Prix races.

This colour print is a massive 32×40-inches and printed on heavy-weight paper and would look great in your garage, study or man-cave! To save delivery charges for local customers and LOCO members, these prints are available for collection from the Auto-Archives building in Littleton at no extra charge.
